DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

About the Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2009. The department offers a four-year degree programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an annual intake of 60 students. The department is equipped with modern digital classrooms, well-established laboratories, departmental library, seminar hall, high-speed internet connectivity, Wi-Fi facilities, and advanced computing resources. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members specializing in various domains of Electronics and Communication Engineering. To strengthen industry-academia interaction, the department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide students with practical exposure to real-time telecommunication systems. The department is committed to nurturing competent engineers through quality education, practical learning, innovation, and industry-oriented skill development.

The department follows the curriculum prescribed by Andhra University while enriching the teaching-learning process through Outcome-Based Education (OBE), project-based learning, laboratory-intensive instruction, value-added courses, seminars, workshops, industrial visits, guest lectures, and technical training programmes. Faculty members continuously adopt innovative teaching methodologies and digital learning practices to enhance students' academic performance and technical competency.

The department provides a student-centric learning environment supported by well-equipped laboratories including Electronic Devices Laboratory, Analog and Digital Communication Laboratories, Microprocessor and Microcontroller Laboratory, Embedded Systems Laboratory, DSP Laboratory, VLSI Laboratory, IoT Laboratory, Project Laboratory, multimedia-enabled classrooms, departmental library, seminar hall, high-speed internet connectivity, Wi-Fi facilities, and modern computing infrastructure. The laboratories are periodically upgraded to support emerging technologies and practical skill development.

The department encourages faculty members and students to actively participate in research, innovation, intellectual property creation, funded projects, paper publications, project exhibitions, hackathons, technical competitions, and national-level innovation contests. Students are motivated to undertake interdisciplinary projects that address industrial requirements and societal challenges through innovative engineering solutions.
