Professor Praveen Choppala heads the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. He has over a decade of teaching and research experience at reputed universities worldwide. He holds a PhD from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Post PhD he worked as postdoctoral fellow at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and also at the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. His expertise spans the domains of signal processing, Bayesian estimation, applied probability and machine learning. He has done ground breaking research in developing particle filter methods for multiple target tracking applications and has done several publications.
Praveen Choppala has visited several countries like Spain, Canada, Dubai, HongKong, etc. for academic talks and collaborations. He also has international and national collaborations with reputed universities including Northeastern University, USA, Technion University, Israel and UTech, Jamaica. Our students regularly interact with research groups at these reputed universities for project and research work.
Praveen Choppala is a visionary in innovative teaching-learning methods. He is one of the pioneers for the extensive use of e-learning tools for blended learning in Visakhapatnam engineering institutes, and had thus made way for students to connect to their course anytime and anywhere.
