The Department of Civil Engineering, WISTM arranged a field visit on 27th JULY,2017
Sri Tenneti Viswanadham Pedderu Reservoir Project is a Medium Irrigation Reservoir Project on Peddeeru river (17° 53′ 30”N ,82° 42′ 0”E), a tributary to river Sarada, formed near Ravipalem (V) in Madugula (M) of Visakhapatnam District. The ayacut is 19322 Acres and benefits 62 villages in 3 Mandals namely Madugula, Ravikamatham and Butchiahpeta

MFD : 1630 cumecs43 students IV/IV B.E. Civil Engineering, accompanied by two senior faculty members, Prof. B. V. Shiva Kumar (HOD) and Prof( Dr) G. Ravi Kishore, Academic Coordinator went to the field visit.Mrs. Anuradha, Deputy Engineer (Irrigation) and Mr. Ramesh, Junior Engineer explained about the technical aspects of Pedderu Reservoir to the Students for over one hour.The field visit went on smoothly and it enhanced the knowledge and threw more light on the practical aspects of the subjects like Environmental Engg-I, Water Resources Engg and Transportation Engg., dealt in the III/IV & IV/IV B.E. Civil Engineering.

14:25 – Visited the near by Surplus Gates from three Reservoirs.
14:25 to 15:15 – Visited the Surplus weir.
16:30 – Arrived at WISTM.
